HOPE Scholarship is available to Georgia students who have graduated from high school with a minimum 3.0 CORE grade point average. Students must then maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative post-secondary grade point average to remain eligible. Students graduating after May of 2017 will need to have FOUR Full Academic credits in order to be eligible for HOPE. Please see the list of HOPE Rigor classes to determine if your student meets this requirement. Remember that one class at the high school is only a ½ credit, so students would need to complete a total of 8 rigor classes in order to obtain the required four credits. The HOPE scholarship provides tuition assistance to students pursuing an undergraduate degree at a HOPE Scholarship eligible college or university in Georgia. Students have exactly seven years from their date of graduation to qualify for and use their HOPE scholarship. After seven years from their graduation date, they will no longer be eligible to receive HOPE.
Zell Miller Scholarship is available to Georgia students who have graduated from high school with a minimum 3.7 CORE grade point average and who have a minimum SAT score of 1,200 on the math and reading portions or a minimum composite ACT score of 26 in a single national test administration. Students must then maintain a minimum 3.3 cumulative post-secondary grade point average to remain eligible. Students graduating after May of 2017 will need to have FOUR Full Academic credits in order to be eligible for HOPE.
